SOAR PreVocational and Supported Employment Program
The Family Alliance Network S.O.A.R. (Skills Opportunities Advancement & Resilience) Program’s Customer Service Training Program is a specialized six-week initiative designed for young adults aged 18 to 24. This program equips participants with vital interpersonal skills essential for excelling in the customer service sector, industries like hospitality, food and beverage, call center and retail while focusing on how to effectively cater to customer needs. The curriculum is facilitated by a Certified Career Navigator/Coach and/or PreVocational Specialist and includes mastering skills such as active listening, adaptability, and financial accountability. Moreover, it provides a platform for young adults to enhance their resumes and sharpen their job interview skills.
This training is available across various FAN locations, and during the first four weeks in the classroom, attendees receive a biweekly stipend. In the fifth week, participants have the opportunity to transition into a paid internship through a partnership with local community organizations. Upon completion of the training program, participants will not only possess the competencies to enter the workforce but will also benefit from ongoing support to sustain their achievement in their future careers.
